Fire-resistant closures — Terminology and requirements
Basis for the T30, T60 and T90 classification.
T30, T60, T90 — the classification says how many minutes the door withstands fire. It protects escape routes, separates fire compartments and is subject to mandatory inspection.
Fire doors divide a building into compartments that a fire cannot leave for a defined period. That period is in the designation: T30 withstands 30 minutes, T90 ninety.
Smoke protection doors pursue a different aim: they hold smoke back so that escape and rescue routes stay passable. Both requirements can be combined.
We supply, fit and inspect both types — and document the inspections so that they stand up to an inspection visit.
