Portable fire extinguishers — Maintenance
Requires recurring maintenance by a qualified person and specifies what is inspected and documented. Usual interval: two years.
The fire extinguisher is the only fire protection device a layperson operates when it matters. Calculate the requirement in extinguishing agent units, equip correctly, sign the locations, inspect every two years — and keep the evidence.
Fire extinguishers look unremarkable and are legally demanding. How many a building needs does not follow from the number of rooms but from the floor area and the fire risk — calculated in extinguishing agent units to ASR A2.2. The wrong extinguishing agent, too few units, and a location that is blocked or unsigned are the three defects most commonly found during inspection visits.
FireLux determines the requirement, supplies the equipment, signs the locations, carries out the two-yearly maintenance through qualified persons, and keeps the evidence so that it stands up to scrutiny by an authority, an employers' liability insurance association or an insurer.
